Choosing Your First Wetsuit for Dahab's Waters

Water temperature in Dahab typically sits between 24-28°C depending on season, which means most students are comfortable in a 3mm open-cell wetsuit for the majority of the year, dropping to 1.5mm in peak summer. Open-cell suits fit tighter and insulate better than the lined suits you may have used for surfing or scuba, but they need a little lubricant to pull on and should never be worn dry on rocks or boats. If you're only doing one course and don't want to buy gear yet, rental suits in good condition are available through the school — just let us know your height and weight in advance so the right size is ready when you arrive.
